plane crash in australia. dash cam video - shows the horrific aftermath of the plane- crashing into a shopping mall before it opened. the pilot was killed- along with 4 american golfers visiting from texas. among them- greg de haven - who was originally from fairfax county - and a 1964 graduate of w.t. woodson high school. the pilot had reported "catastrophic engine failure" right after takeoff. breaking overnight, russia earlier this morning launched a unmanned cargo ship to the international space station. it comes after a previous att
launching the ship failed in october. the launch comes as the spacex "dragon" supply ship is expected to arrive at the space station later this morning. spacex launched that ship on sunday from florida. if all goes as planned, russia's cargo ship will arrive to the space station by friday. nasa will present new findings today on planets beyond our solar system. they're called exoplanets, and they each orbit a star other than our sun. some of these exoplanets could potentially support life. the first one was discovered in 1995. nasa says it's now confirmed the existence of almost 35-hundred exoplanets. the closest exoplanet to us in the universe is a rocky planet named proxima. it was discovered just six months ago. a new crime alert trend you need to hear about. thieves- breaking into your car, to steal the manual. a california couple says their i-pod was untouched- but a thief ransacked the car and took the manual. the possible motive- unnerving. police say thieves are looking for key

rioters away in handcuffs. they scuffled with police, broke windows and even lit cars and limos on fire. and now a grand jury in d-c has indicted five more people with "felony rioting". this is in addition to the "two-hundred and nine" other people who were already indicted for destroying property. most of which took place near 12th and k streets northwest. charges against some have been dismissed. felony rioting carries a maximum of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to 25 thousand dollars. perhaps they'll think twice next time... back up stairs to you. the 20-17 conservative poltical action conference known as "cpac" - kicks off today - and a lot has changed since last year.. john gonzalez is live at national harbor with what we can expect. the conference comes as president trump is moving forward with plans
